I spent 30-plus years as a novelist and a national business journalist, contributing to such publications as The New York Times, Fortune Magazine, Inc Magazine, CNNMoney, the Wall Street Journal among others—until I had an inexplicable visit from a loved one in spirit. I began to let go of my facts-oriented mindset and began taking classes that led me to a new way of thinking about life and the afterlife—and a new career. 

Today, I am a Reiki master, an evidential medium, and the author of the upcoming Tapped In: 31 Stories That Will Change How You Think About Intuition, Connection and the Afterlife — a book that grew out of my own experiences and my journalistic instinct to ask why. I also write the Tapped In Substack, which is a blog that goes to your email that explores the afterlife, consciousness, mediumship, and being a better human.

My story is proof that mediums and healers are not necessarily “special people,” with innate gifts. I didn’t grow up seeing ghosts. And I believe that my shift is reflective of a greater spiritual awakening among ordinary people, that connection and intuition are available to everyone — and that you don’t have to be a medium to tap in to something greater than yourself to find more peace, healing and connection in the world.

I’m not just one thing:

• Reiki master, meditation coach and evidential medium: In 2020, my own journey sent me a path to discover the power of Reiki, a Japanese energy healing, and then to learn evidential mediumship. These two modalities of connection have been life altering for me, and deeply meaningful and healing for both me and hopefully for others too.

• Spiritual author: On September 10, 2026, I will release a non-fiction title,Tapped In,a giftable book about ordinary people and extraordinary stories of breakthroughs, healing and spiritual connection— and lessons you can apply to your own life. Preorder it now.
